INASOC

About 26th Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee

Indonesia Olympic Committee (KOI) has been given the honor and mandated to be the Host of the 26th Southeast Asian Games by the SEA Games Federation (SEAGF), and thus are obliged to ensure that the 26th SEA Games will be executed in compliance with SEAGF Charter.

KOI delegates this duty to an Organizing Committee, called the Indonesia South East Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASOC), which has been made official by a Decree from the President of Indonesia.

INASOC Executive Board consists of national SEAGF members, the President and Secretary General of KOI, and members appointed by the host provinces, which are DKI Jakarta and South Sumatera. INASOC membership also includes Government officials and professionals. Therefore, INASOC has grown into a huge administrative entity, employing hundreds of people.

Functions of INASOC:

1. Responsible for the organization and commencement of the 26th SEA Games;
2. Decides upon all important issues related to the 26th SEA Games;
3. Planning and Preparations of the 26th SEA Games;
4. Supervise the performance and progress of all projects and teamwork in all stages of preparations;
5. Recruiting, managing and training of employees, including volunteers;
6. Preparing and Coordinating with SEAGF, International Federations, Asian Federations, and to give scheduled progress reports;
7. To give scheduled progress reports to Indonesian Ministry of Sports and Youth, Provincial Governments of South Sumatera and DKI Jakarta, and the City Government of Palembang.
