Jakarta (UR)-The Indonesian men’s basketball team to the 26th SEA Games said it fancied its chances of qualifying from the group matches and moving into the next round.
Indonesia isin Group B with Malaysia, Singapore, and Myanmar.
“This group is of mixed strength,” Indonesia coach Fictor “Ito” Roring said.“Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia have even records against each other. We are cautious about Myanmar because they are fielding naturalized players from China.”
The basketball competition will begin at the Britama Arena Sports Mall in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, on Monday.
“Build is really a key factor in basketball, but I am not anxious although Myanmar has five tall naturalized players from China,” he said.
“I’m not going to worry about how tall they are. We need to focus on strategy,” team manager Hasan Gozali said.
“Sunday afternoon is not only the last chance to train, but also the final chance to evaluate ourselves ahead of the first game,” team captain Mario Wuysang said. UR-10
