Indonesia ends Rowing Competition With Another Two Golds

Karawang, West Java, Nov 17 - The rowing competition at the 26th SEA Games ended on Thursday with Indonesia picking up two more gold medals.

Indonesia won the the 2,000 meters lightweight women fours (LW4-) and the men's cox eight (M8+), defeating rivals Vietnam and Thailand.

In the LW4- event, Sri Rahayu Masi, Femi Batuwael, Yayah Rokayah and Ratna won in seven minutes 6.41 seconds, beating Vietnamese quartet Nguyen Thi Thong, Hoang Thi Phuong, Le Thi An and Thi Nhat Bui who clocked in at 7:11.01.

Thailand’s Monchai Varapon, Phutmuen Photchani, Kanya Tachuenchit and Nichakul Nukooltham finished third in 7:22.83.

In the M8+ event, Indonesia won gold through Jamaludin, Prakasa Ramdan Dani, Ihram, Sukasna Ketut, Budi Aji Agus, Iswandi, Hallatu Thoma, /Lakiki Muhammad Ali Dart and Jarudin in five minutes 58.9 seconds

They were trailed by Vietnam’s Vu Dinh Quyen, Tran Dang Dung, Nguyen The Phong, Nguyen Van Son, Nguyen Van Linh, Nguyen Van Nguyen, Duong Thanh Binh, Nguyen Dinh Huy and Duc Toan Luong in 6:01.80.

Thailand’s Somphorn Mueangkhot, Pongsakom Poomkaew, Anon Malun, Tawee Khaenwongkham, Mehasit Phromoem, Pittaya Meebun, Leamem Kangnok, Pongsokan Phoomkaew and Nopphadol Sangthuang took bronze in 6:02.90.

 2. Vietnam 6:01.80 (silver)

 3. Thailand 6:02.90 (bronze).

 1. Indonesia 7:06.41 (gold)

 2. Vietnam 7:11.01 (silver)

 3. Thailand 7:22.83 (bronze).

 

 2,000 meters men's double scull (M2X)

 1. Chaichana Thakum and Ruthtanaphol Theppibal (Thailand) 6:401.8 (gold)

 2. Benjamin Jr Tolentino and Jose Rodrigues (Philippines) 6:44.48 (silver)

 3. Luong Duc Toan and Nguyen Phuong Dong (Vietnam) 6:46.89 (bronze)

 1. Phuttharaksa Nikree (Thailand) 8:08.99 (gold)

 2. Pham Thi Hue (Vietnam) 8:13.81 (silver)

 3. Saiyidah Aisyah Md Rafaee (Singapore) 8:17.78 (bronze)

 1. Duong Thanh Binh and Nguyen Dinh Huy (Vietnam) 7:04.68 (gold)

 2. Saw Wai Hiam and Myint San (Myanmar) 7:13.32 (silver)

 3. Ahmad Huzaifah Ahmad Izuddin and Muhammad Alif bin Abdul Haliki (Malaysia) 7:18.64 (bronze)
