
Bogor (UR) - Thai and Philippine paragliders were injured in the accuracy-spot landing and race-to-goal events at the 26th SEA Games at Bukit Naringgul, Puncak, Bogor Regency, on Friday.
Beng of the Philippines and Natikan Paosopa of Thailand landed in the wrong spots suffered injuries.
Beng injured his left leg landing in bushes near the temporary landing spot, while Paosopa broke his hip after landing at a KFC outlet two kilometers away from the landing spot.
The athletes were competing in the race-to-goal event in the afternoon along with 43 other paragliders.
At around 2 p.m., several paragliders had completed their descent, including some Indonesian athletes who recorded accurate landings.
Paosopa encountered winds that forced him to land at the KFC outlet.
SEA Games Media Centre official Tagor Siagian confirmed the accident saying Paosopa broke a hip and was taken to hospital.(UR-4)
