

South Sumatra Province declared its readiness to host the 26th SEA Games stated Nov. 11-22. The local government announced it during the 26th SEA Games Council and Executive Meeting at Nusa Dua Beach Hotel in Bali, Feb. 25-26.
South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin ensures that venue constructions are still on schedule, such as athletics stadium located within the Jakabaring Sports Complex in Palembang. As part of its commitments to succeed the Games, Palembang City Health Agency will continuously supervise hygiene and sanitary all over public spaces, like restaurants and hotels.
During the Games, guests are invited to explore historical landmarks of the province. Ampera Bridge is one of the city’s major tourism destinations as well as Kuto Besak Fortress.
