Posted : 24 Jun 2011 12:26:56

JAKARTA, June 20th 2011 – INASOC (Indonesia SEA Games Organizing Committee) for the 26th SEA Games today launched their video clip and official song for the Games.

Deputy IV INASOC Indra Yudhistira said that, “While the official songs were created to develop enthusiasm, the theme song was specifically assigned as the theme for the big event. The launched official song was one form of a strong support from numerous Indonesian musicians for Indonesian athletes participating in the 26th SEA Games. Although the song launched recently was titled KITA BISA ( We Can Do It), more official songs are expected to be launched in the near future.

KITA BISA was written by Yovie Widianto, a celebrated Bandung musician renowned as one of the founders and keyboardist of Kahitna. Yovie has been one the main think-tanks of Kahitna since the band was formed in 1986. Additionally, He is also famous for being one of the most talented music writer in the Indonesian music industry.Yovie has successfully launched a large number of songs and singers through his work. Vocals in Kita Bisa are by Yovie Widianto, Dudi and Dikta NUNO, Ello, Judika, Terry, Astrid, and Lala Karmela.

“The true warriors for events such as the SEA Games are our athletes, who with all their heart and soul, will defend the National Flag. Musicians like us are only capable of offering support such as through this song, tributed to all Indonesian athletes,” said Yovie Widianto.

“Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia would also like to contribute by promoting these songs in one album. Our only wish is that the enthusiasm of the SEA Games can be shared all over the country. And Sony Music Entertainment is proud to participate in a major event such as this,” added Toto Widjaja, Head Director of sony Music Entertainment.

Indra Yudistira explained, “Apart from the official songs, we will also launch the KITA BISA video clip, starring all vocalists of Yovie and Friends, featuring various national atletes preparing to compete in the 26th SEA Games for aerobics, pencak silat, paragliding, synchronized swimming, mountain bike, fencing, and karate. The clip will also feature other atheletes such as Kim Jeffry Kurniawan and Octo Maniani from Soccer, Eko Yulianto from weight-lifting, and Simon Santoso from badminton.  All national athletes competing in the Games need to know that all Indonesians fully support their efforts.”

“While today we launched the official song for the 26th SEA Games, in the following weeks we will launch the theme song – a song which reflects our highest spirit as well as the main theme of the 26th SEA Games. The theme song will involve three Souteast Asian artists: Agnes Monica from Indonesia, Lea Salonga from the Philipines, and Jacklun Victor from Malaysia.

“Everyone loves music. Music can create such an atmosphere as intended by the musicians involved in it. I believe that the more people are willing to contribute in building up the enthusiasm of the Games, the stronger impact it will have on the athletes, organizers, guests, and the Indonesian society,” said Rachmat Gobel, INASOC Director of Operations.

SEA Games XXVI 2011 will be held in Indonesia (Jakarta and Palembang) from 11 – 25 November 2011. Participating in the biennial sporting event are 11 Southeast Asian countries: Brunei Darussalam, the Philipines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
