
In Semarang, the torch was brought to Cityhall of Semarang. The relay was started from Taman Unyil Park, Ungaran to the cityhall. For more than 20 kilometres. Many local communities joined the relay. For example, the Harley Davidson community, Jeep Community, and more. Approximately, 100 cars followed the relay.
The relay was much more merrier, when many local students cheered the torch relay and the SEA Games icons, Modo and Modi. They cheered the relay by waving Indonesian flag all the way. They also happy because the torch relay passed right in front of their school. Hopefully they can also feel the spirit that was brought by the torch.
After that, the Mayor of Semarang, Soemarmo, held a culture night to celebrate the torch relay. There were many performers on that event, including the barongsai, wushu, capoeira, traditional bicycle, and many other communities. Two Indonesian artists, RAN and Rossa also performed on that stage.
The most attractive performer was the wayang orang performer. This Javanese traditional puppet performs the traditional dance about the spirit of youngsters before SEA Games. The dancers brought many sport tools, such as rackets, basketball, and volleyball on stage. That unique performance could really satisfy the audience.
