Grand Indonesia

Grand Indonesia Shopping Town, a shopping mall that has been around since 2007, is now a highlighted spot for many to visit, especially during weekends. Constructed to become the icon of Jakarta's most luxurious shopping scene, it delivers the ultimate, trend-setting shopping, dining and entertainment experience spread out over more than 250,000 square meters in eight levels. It is strategically located right in the heart of Jakarta near Bundaran HI, the busiest roundabout in the city that also erects the thirty meters high Welcome Monument.

The shopping town is a part of the Grand Indonesia complex that comprises Grand Indonesia Shopping Town, Hotel Indonesia-Kempinski, Kempinski Residence and BCA Tower. It was previously occupied by the historically famous Hotel Indonesia, the first five-star hotel in Indonesia that also became the country's pride during the regime of the first Indonesian President, Soekarno, in 1962.

The shopping mall consists of two main buildings, the West and the East Mall that is linked by a multi-level bridge with eight levels. These levels can be categorized into three main districts, namely the Specialty district, the Main Mall district and the Crossroads of the World district. The Specialty district includes the first three levels that feature upscale retail brands with splendid arrays of lightning and interiors that resemble luxury. The Main Mall district presents three vibrant-and-trendy levels of bustle, ranging from the latest trends in fashion to health and beauty treatments to gastronomy centers. The third district, Crossroads of the world, is probably the main splendor of the shopping town. It features special lightning effects that are usually used in the film industry made by Gary Goddard Entertainment (the well-known experts of bringing unique visions to life for theme parks, resorts and destination attractions throughout the world). The district collects different urban environments that showcase an outdoor interior design similar to those found at shopping centers in Las Vegas. These environments backdrop four areas that mainly feature restaurants and entertainment centers.

Brand-consciousness has been a major form of self-fullfilment for Jakartans, especially for those discerning middle and upper class shoppers. This majestic building is a home to some of the world's leading fashion brands, namely TOPMAN, ZARA, Ted Baker, GAP, Giordano, Guess, Gucci and many other more. Therefore Jakarta can now be called another shopping paradise which used to be a permanent icon for Singapore. Other forms of escapade include restaurants that serve numberless dishes of international and local food. Amongst the restaurants, there are international food and drink chains such as Starbucks Coffee and Burger King.

On the top level of the mall is where the film enthusiasts satisfy their interests. A cinema complex, known to be the biggest cinema in Indonesia, named Blitzmegaplex is where you can watch local and international screenings at eleven exclusive studios (including the new 3D studio). The complex also offers a fine dining experience at BlitzDining Cinema where you can overlook the cityscape from the 8th floor.
