Ranau Lake

Sumatera Selatan Province has a large lake named Danau Ranau which is worth to visit. This lake is the largest lake in Sumatera Selatan Province with approximately 128 square kilometers large. The view of the lake is very stunning with mount Seminung as its background and hills and valleys surrounding it. The lake was formed naturally. Earthquake and eruption from a volcano made a basin on the ground that was filled with water from a river passing it.

In this lake, the tourists can get pleasure from its fresh and stunning scenery. Not only they can enjoy the scenery, they can see natural hot spring springing from the bottom of the lake on the foot of Mount Seminung. Also, there are a waterfall called Air Terjun Subik near the lake and an island not far from the hot spring that the tourists can go to while visiting Danau Ranau. Danau Ranau is approximately 342 kilometers away from Palembang. And to get there, it takes seven hours from Palembang.
