Located in the Ancol Dreamland (an integral part of Ancol Bay City in the Northern part of Jakarta) this huge modern aquarium is exhibiting the special and diverse tropical marine life, found throughout the Indonesian waters as well as any other aquatic areas in the world.

The oceanarium is mainly divided into two sections, the saltwater aquarium and the freshwater aquarium. The saltwater aquarium is filed with 5 million liters of saltwater and functioning as the habitat of thousands of Indonesian saltwater fauna in splendid different colours. From here, the main attraction shall greet you by entering the Antasena Tunnel, a 80-meter walk-through acrylic tube that give first-hand experience of the magnificent underwater life as well as watching the hand-feeding attraction performed by a number of divers which can be a highlight of your visit. On the other side, the freshwater aquarium keeps various kinds of freshwater animals such as the primitive cartilaginous fish, piranhas, electric eels, baby crocodiles and giant Robber Crab. Move a little further you can find another aquarium called Dugong aquarium that is inhabited by dugong, the scarcely cute sea mammals.

Apart from the two main areas, there are plenty other interesting attractions to try. There is a theater room that plays ocean life documentary films scheduled daily; An observation deck to overlook the main aquarium; A museum and a library to enrich your knowledge in aquatic and marine life; and a function hall that is often used to be a venue for birthday party or wedding ceremonies.

The oceanarium also offers interesting packages of interacting with the faunas. Visitors can dive in the main aquarium or getting the fish reflexology, called fish dip, which is the latest innovation that involves dipping your feet into a box filled with Garra rufa fish that will give you a certain kind of sensational foot massage.
