Trans-Jakarta Bus Rapid Transit System

TransJakarta is a bus rapid transit system in Jakarta which started on January 15, 2004. It was designed to provide the citizens of Jakarta a fast public transportation system to help reduce rush hour traffic. The government provided the buses with their own private lanes and Transjakarta's ticket prices are subsidized by the state government.

It has the potential to be the first important step to providing Jakarta not only with a state-of-the-art, modern mass transportation system, but also of transforming itself into a more liveable city.

There are 10 corridors currently :

• Corridor 1 (Kota - Blok M)
• Corridor 2 (Pulo Gadung - Harmoni)
• Corridor 3 (Kalideres - Pasar Baru)
• Corridor 4 (Pulo Gadung - Dukuh Atas)
• Corridor 5 (Ancol - Kampung Melayu)
• Corridor 6 (Halimun - Ragunan)
• Corridor 7 (Kampung Melayu - Kampung Rambutan)
• Corridor 8 (Lebak Bulus - Harmoni)
• Corridor 9 (Pluit - Pinang Ranti)
• Corridor 10 (Tanjung Priok - Cililitan)

These future corridors include:

• Corridor 11 (Kampung Melayu - Pulo Gebang)
• Corridor 12 (Pluit - Tanjung Priok)
• Corridor 13 (Blok M - Pondok Kelapa)
• Corridor 14 (Manggarai - UI)
• Corridor 15 (Ciledug - Blok M)
